Training under this scheme is provided in engineering and non-engineering trades of one or two year duration, to the trainees. No age bar for admissions. The educational qualifications for admission vary depending on the trades. All India Trade Tests are conducted by the Director General of Employment and Training and National Trade Certificates are awarded to the successful trainees on behalf of the NCVT. This certificate has been recognised by the Government of India for recruitment to relevant subordinate posts in all the Central/ State Government organisations. Periodical inspections are carried out for evaluation of standards and quality of training and for taking remedial measures, as required.
All India Trade Tests are conducted by the National Council for Vocational Training, for the award of National Trade Certificates to those trainees who qualify for the test. All India Trade Test is held, twice a year, in the months of February and August, in engineering as well as in non-engineering trades.
National Trade Certificates (NTC) is a certification awarded to trainees who successfully complete a vocational Training course which is recognised nationally and internationally, enhancing employability. Consolidated marksheets is a document that consolidates the marks of first year & second year in various subjects.
NTC holders can take admissioin Diploma Course in notified branches of Engineering by Lateral Entry.
In order to foster a spirit of healthy competition among the trainees of the various Industrial Training Institute and Industrial Training Centres, with a view to raise the standard of skill the scheme of holding All India Skill Competition was started from 1964.
National Trade Certificate holders are eligible to complete apprenticeship training as paid Apprentice under Apprentice Act –1961 and can appear for the National Apprenticeship Trade Test which will enable the candidate to award National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).This certificate signifies competency in a specific trade and is recognised for employment in Government and Semi Government organisations.
The NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) and ITI linkage allows trainees pursuing ITI courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) to continue NIOS course for senior secondary certification (PLUS TWO). Along with ITI course we offer NIOS training so as to get PLUS TWO certificate on completion of ITI. On completion of NIOS with ITI they can further go for general/technical education.
